    It signified our proud lineage of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Florence Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is proud to represent the Carlson Gracie Team in competitions nationwide. The Carlson Gracie style of BJJ is aggressive and pressure-based, which is a staple of the "old school" style of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. We at Florence BJJ teach the Carlson Gracie style mixed with more modern techniques that many practitioners use in Jiu-Jitsu competitions.
  • Is Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu appropriate for children?
    Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is definitely appropriate for children. We hold children's classes every Monday and Wednesday at 5:00 p.m. We offer a fun and safe training environment for our little practitioners.
  • Do I have to sign an annual contract?
    Students do not have to sign a contract. We offer multiple membership types. Members of our academy have the option to sign up on a month-to-month plan, a six-month plan, or on an annual basis.
  • What is the youngest age of student you will accept?
    We begin training students at age five.
  • What is the average class size?
    Afternoon classes average 15 to 20 members and morning classes average five to ten members.
  • Do you offer individual training?
    Yes, we do offer private, individualized lessons.
